Phil is a coating professional with 40 years experience, he has worked for companies including Berger, International Paint and Macpherson, in Technical, Business Development and General Management positions. 

​

In 1995 Phil was appointed Managing Director of Isaac Spencer & Co Ltd, a paint manufacturing business based in Aberdeen. Phil and Graham Stronach his business Partner and Finance Director spent 20 years building Spencer Coatings Ltd into the largest independent industrial coatings company in the UK.

​

The Acothane product range was acquired in 2002 and Spencer's have built an impressive international business around this product range, predominantly in the oil, gas and water industries.

​

Acothane UK was incorporated in 2015, dedicated to co-coordinating all product and application activities for the UK water industry.
